Rhinoplasty

What is Rhinoplasty?

Nose surgery, also known as rhinoplasty in medical literature, is a surgical procedure performed to change the shape, size, or proportions of the nose. Nose surgery can be performed to address both aesthetic concerns and improve nasal function.

Why is it done?

Rhinoplasty may be chosen for the following reasons:

Application Areas

Rhinoplasty can be used to correct a variety of conditions:

Surgery Process

Consultation: Before surgery, you need to have a detailed consultation with your doctor to share your expectations and wishes. Your doctor will evaluate your nasal structure and recommend the most suitable treatment plan for you.

Preparation: Before surgery, your medical history will be reviewed, necessary tests will be performed, and preparations for the surgery day will be completed.

Anesthesia: The surgery is usually performed under general anesthesia, so you will not feel any discomfort during the procedure.

Surgical Intervention: Your surgeon will make incisions inside the nostrils to access the nasal structure. These incisions usually leave no visible scars. If necessary, the nasal cartilage and bone will be reshaped.

Recovery Process: Swelling and bruising may occur in the nasal area after surgery. While the recovery process varies from person to person, significant recovery is usually seen within a few weeks. Full recovery may take several months.

Results

After rhinoplasty, you can have a more balanced and aesthetically pleasing nose structure. The post-operative results are permanent, leading to increased self-confidence and improved overall facial appearance.

Risks and Complications

As with any surgical procedure, rhinoplasty carries some risks. These risks may include infection, bleeding, complications related to anesthesia, undesirable results in the shape of the nose, or breathing problems. Choosing an experienced and expert surgeon is important to minimize these risks.
